Most gem scholars agree that the tradition of birthstones
arose from the Breastplate of Aaron: a ceremonial religious garment
set with twelve gemstones that represented the twelve tribes of Israel.
Many found a correspondence with the twelve signs of the zodiac.
In later times, the stones became associated with the
twelve months of the year and many believed that the stones
possessed power when worn or owned.
Thus, the tradition of giving and wearing birthstones began!

Legend has it, that Noah hung a large garnet in the ark
for illumination!
The garnet was believed to protect from nightmares
and give guidance at night.
The Crusaders used them as protection against
wounds and accidents during their journeys.

The Greeks believed that if an amethyst was
placed under the tongue while drinking

+ UK Training +
Haha. i can't believe it. I'm actually flying to UK next month.Me and 3 other male engineers will take the 13th night flight over.Our training is at Chestler for 2 days on the 15th-16th.The company only cover us till the 17th (+ flight home), after that we fork out our own pocket for a short trip to London before we will fly back on the 19th.We'll reach Singapore on the tuesday 20th. No need to take leave because of our night flights, we are entitled to 2 days off that will cover Monday and Tuesday..Heehee.. More details to be confirmed.London, here i come... =)

Yes, Marriage is something's that once chose cannot turn back to pick again.

A student asks a teacher, "What is love?"
The teacher said, "in order to answer your question, go to the padi field and choose the biggest padi and come back.
But the rule is: you can go through them only once and cannot turn back to pick.
"The student went to the field, go thru first row, he saw one big padi, but he wonders....may be there is a bigger one later.
Then he saw another bigger one... but may be there is a even bigger one waiting for him.
Later, when he finished more than half of the padi f ield, he start to realize that the padi is not as big as the previous one he saw, he know he has missed the biggest one, and he regretted !!!!
So, he ended up went back to the teacher with empty hand.
The teacher told him, "...this is love... you keep looking for a better one, but when later you realize, you have already miss the person...."
"What is marriage then?" the student asked.
The teacher said, "in order to answer your question, go to the corn field and choose the biggest corn and come back.
But the rule is: you can go through them only once and cannot turn back to pick.
"The student went to the corn field, this time he is careful not to repeat the previous mistake, when he reach the middle of the field, he has picked one medium corn that he feel satisfy, and come back to the teacher.
The teacher told him, "this time you bring back a corn.... you look for one that is just nice, and you have faith and believe this is the best one you get.... this is marriage."

The past is meant to be used as a tool for the future. Bad experiences indeed make you bitter but the lessons learned should make you better.
ON LETTING GO: It hurts to see someone you love happy with somebody else; but wouldn't it hurt you more to see that person unhappy...with you?
When you find arms that will hold you at your weakest, eyes that will see you at your ugliest, lips that will kiss you in both instances, and a heart that will love you at your worst, then you have found true love.
